We always talk about those foods that are good for us, about what we should eat to achieve our goals. But we leave aside those that are harmful to our health and that their consumption can lead to imbalances in our body.

Because it is made from vegetables rather than animal products, margarine has an absolutely unfair reputation as a healthy foodstuff. Quite a few people would erect this alternative before the butter in the wrong way already. The drawback? The vegetable oils that make up many margarines have been hydrogenated so that they can continue to be solid at room temperature, meaning that they are rich in trans fats. The latter, as we have said on many occasions, are dangerous, since they can give rise to an accumulation of bad cholesterol in the arteries, thus increasing the danger of heart attacks or cerebrovascular problems.

Processed Meats

Hot dogs and other processed meats have a strong reason to be on this list of foods not suitable for consumption. We know that the consumption of this type of meat has been linked to an increase in colon cancer.

Soft drinks

After water, soft drinks continue to be the most popular drink. But the generally high sugar content of corn syrup, high in glucose, can represent one of the most essential drawbacks of this kind of beverage. Coca Cola, among many others, raise blood sugar levels and over time can cause problems such as insulin tolerance, which can lead to diabetes.

Artificial sweeteners

Almost all products labelled as'diet','light' or'sugar-free' have some kind of artificial sweetener such as sucralose or aspartame. Unfortunately, it is often the case that quite a few people who seek to achieve these weight loss goals purchase these products.

But the truth is that these sweeteners have been linked to increased blood sugar and an increased risk of obesity, high blood pressure or diabetes.

It is best to use a small amount of normal sugar or even better to remove the sugar completely.

Fried foods

Deep-frozen foods, fried like potatoes, onion rings and the like are devastating to your body. Its high content in supersaturated fats due to its preparation, make these foods can lead to heart disease and obesity.

Microwave popcorn

It is true that many brands offer"light" versions of this foodstuff with less fat or sodium, but that is not the real drawback. The drawback is really the lining of the popcorn bag itself. It contains a chemical called perfluoroctanic acid (PFOA), which has been associated with thyroid gland disorders, cancer and lung disease.

The alternative option is to make homemade popcorn in a pot or frying pan.

Canned food

Packaged foods such as tomato soups, vegetables or others have a compound called bisphenol A or BPA, which seeps into the coating of cans. BPA is suspected of interfering with hormone levels or creating cardiovascular problems.

Instant noodles

Instant noodles are full of calories, while offering very few nutrients and high sodium. High sodium is linked to increased blood pressure, which in turn is a risk factor for heart attacks and strokes. The consumption of these noodles has been linked to increased cholesterol and other medical problems.

White bread

Who doesn't resort to sandwiches in their meals to go. Unfortunately, white bread is not entirely healthy. Because white bread is highly processed, it does not contain the perfect amounts of nutrients. It is also related to weight gain or high sugar levels.

Soy products

Like margarine, soy products have a reputation for being healthy and are a staple in the diet of many vegetarians, vegans and people with a healthy lifestyle.

However, they have compounds called isoflavones that mimic the hormone human estrogen and can create developmental problems.
