Fitness model training [interview]

On this occasion we have decided to translate the interview with fitness model Siliana Chanel Gaspard, conducted by Simplyshredded.com, into Spanish because it is not only interesting to discover her beginnings and trainings, but also the history and the change her body underwent from the beginning. Siliana, twenty-five years old, one hundred and sixty-five cm tall and fifty-five kg, tells us how she began to build her body.

How were your beginnings?

After the birth of my son, I decided I wanted to get in shape. I had gained a normal amount of weight throughout my pregnancy – about eighteen kilograms or so – but even more so I felt I needed to do something about it. So I decided to take things seriously and contacted a personal trainer. From the beginning, and in a natural way, she made me work with heavy weights, and when I started to see the results, I was already hooked on the subject.

In May of two thousand eleven I decided that I wanted to compete for the first time, and so I did it at the NPC, the Branch Warren Classic, in July of that year. I put in the batteries and managed to do second in my category. I loved the accomplishment and seeing how far it had gone. So, shortly afterwards, I took part in the Europe Dallas two thousand eleven, and I won the general Biquini. So I went to the North American Tournaments in Cleveland, where I did third. When I returned home, I took the general classification in Texas, crowning myself as Miss Biquini Texas two thousand eleven. My second attack was on the NPC Team Universe, where I did fourth. And in two thousand twelve I validated my general title and miss Biquini Texas two thousand twelve.

If you had to select three exercises, what would they be and for what reason?

1. Deadweight: I’m close to making a dead weight free with one hundred and forty kg. and I love the feeling of being about to get it, with so much weight. And for not chatting about how good this exercise is for working the hamstrings and lower back.

2. Squats: Again, I managed to do this exercise with a weight of one hundred and forty kg. (and one hundred and eighty kg with Smith machine), so I have the pleasure of being able to make bomb squats. And, of course, it’s an excellent exercise for legs and core.

Loaded and Press: A huge exercise by general rule, which serves not only for the upper body, but also for the core and legs, if you squat in the loaded. These are the basic exercises to train the core, but it can impressively influence the different muscle sets if done properly, so I can say they are my favorite exercises.

What’s your diet?

It’s easy and “clean. And I use exactly the same philosophy as with my training. I just listen to my body. If I have an appetite, I eat. If I don’t have, I don’t eat. It’s as simple as that!

  • Food 1: Egg whites with English wheat bread or oatmeal
  • Food 2: Turkey and lettuce
  • Food 3: Dried Fruit Snack
  • Food 4: Lean fish (tilapia or orange roughy) and cucumbers
  • Food 5: Dried fruit snack
  • Meal 6: Chicken breast or protein shake

When it comes to scorching, which do you prefer, HIIT training or just cardio?

Definitely HIIT trainings. In my opinion, it’s the best way to reduce, scorch and suppress fat.
